The product of over ten years of research and development, our ANR technology delivers unparalleled active noise reduction. The scientific principle behind ANR is that when two identical sound waves meet 180 degrees out of phase (the peak of one wave is aligned with the trough of the second wave), they cancel each other out. The objective of any ANR system is to accurately measure noise coming into a given area and then broadcast canceling sound waves that meet the incoming noise at the optimal point for noise cancellation. Today’s fixed analog systems offer a one-size-fits-all solution that delivers sub-optimal performance. Our ANR technology achieves superior performance by being predictive, adaptive, and digital.
Predictive is better
Current ANR systems measure noise in the ear and react, but they cannot react fast enough to broadcast canceling sound waves that are perfectly 180 degrees out of phase with the incoming noise. The result is sub-optimal noise reduction. The ACE™ measures noise before it reaches the ear and broadcasts canceling sound waves based on a highly accurate prediction of what noise will reach the ear drum. In this way, the ACE™ overcomes the delay problems of today’s reaction-based ANR products to deliver superior noise reduction.
Adaptive makes high performing ANR earplugs possible
Ear canals vary significantly from person to person and every earplug insertion is different. Fixed analog ANR systems cannot handle this wide variability. The ACE’s adaptive system delivers aggressive ANR performance in an earplug for the first time by identifying the characteristics of each earplug fit at start-up and optimizing the ANR settings for that fit.
Digital is the future
Digital technology is required to implement predictive and adaptive Active Noise Reduction. Our custom digital platform delivers superior noise reduction with a power efficiency that cannot be matched by off-the-shelf digital technology. We are always working to improve our ANR technology, and the advantage of digital is that when a technology upgrade is ready, you don’t need to buy a new unit, you just need a software upgrade.
